About

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I’m Liz, as you can tell from the big banner above.  I am in the process of revising my first novel for ages 11+ .  It’s a contemporary action adventure novel with a supernatural twist – it’s a little bit Indiana Jones and hopefully a lot of fun for readers.  It is a standalone novel but has the potential to be turned into a 3 book series.

I have probably been a writer for as long as I can remember.  I think I may have killed a forest using up all the notebooks I could get my grubby little paws on, including my sister’s workbooks for school.  I wrote in everything.  Even if it just was my name.  Yes, I was obsessed even back then, aged five.

These days I’m a little bit better.  But only a little.  I always have at least 2 (sometimes more) moleskines about my person to write in.  My notes are made on the moleskine and the notes become stories.

My novel I’m currently revising is called CURSE OF THE DJINN and more information can be found at the site I set up to record my progress and my angst about it!  The blogging is a bit emo at times and I apologise.  I hope not to carry the angst over to this blog! If I do, feel free to shout at me via: lizdejagerwriter(at)googlemail(dot)com.

Along with hubby Mark, I run My Favourite Books blog which is where I get the chance to review books and sometimes even give away books from a variety of publishers – both in the UK and USA.  I love the MFB site and it’s growing.  You can find that link here.  We also have a friend in Canada helping with reviews – her name is Tina and she’s also an aspiring writer.

I recently joined the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI British Isles) and am so pleased that I did.  An organisation like this is the perfect buffer a writer needs – writing is a solitary pursuit, and being able to meet up with others of a like mind and attending professional and masterclasses is inspiring – and fun, of course!

Whilst revising DJINN I am also making steady and slow progress on my second book, for readers 14+.  At the moment the working title is: VASSILY’S DAUGHTER but I’ll no doubt change it once it’s finished.

And that, dear friends and visitors, is where I stand at present!

Thanks again for dropping by!
